Now THIS was a party.  I had the honor of documenting Kernika and Vishal’s engagement ceremony and party in June, and it was one of the more significant and colorful events I have been a part of.  What more can I say?  Scroll on.

Kernika and Vishal, it was a pleasure!  Congratulations on your engagement and I’m looking forward to seeing you again in the spring.

Little protectors in superhero underoos

This growing family has a growing soft spot in my heart.  I first met them for their family portrait session in January.  I love their blond haired charmers, 4 and 2 years, and their newest baby girl with her wide eyes.

Some of my favorite images here are the ones with an every-day kind of quality to them: of little boys jumping on the bed in superhero underoos, fighting off “bad guys” as little nora’s protectors.  I love the unprompted kiss Henry gives his new little sister and how both boys just want to watch everything.  Harrison checks in every few minutes to say hi to “his baby”.

We may have had a darker-than-expected rainy evening, but I think it was just about perfect.

Nautical-Industrial Engagement Session

Navy Yard | Philadelphia, PA

Trevor and April’s engagement session kept me smiling for a few hours after we finished.  We went to the Philadelphia Navy Yard in early March on a blustery, cloudy day.  The setting rocked and their colors were perfect against the industrial greys and browns.  I loved it.  Trevor kept April and I laughing despite the fact that it was cold enough to start to numb your fingers if we stayed out of the car for too long.

You two have become dear to Pete and I.  It was a privilege to be with you for an engagement session, and I can’t wait for your October wedding! [Update: they are married!]
