You know it's a good sign when that's my husband's reaction to a photo session.  Can you blame him?!  Todd and Dezi, y'all look awesome!  (use of y'all just for you.)  I'm loving working on these and until I get them all to you, here's one.

So as I sit here finishing them up, I'm listening to the Avett Brother's newest album - love it so far!  If you're a fan, what are your thoughts?  This is my first listen but it's pretty high up there.

Happy Friday to you.  May your task list be short and your fall festivities high.

[Update: their full session is posted here.

Every family needs photos like this

I take surprisingly few photos of daily life considering I carry a camera for a living.  Every once in a while though, I catch those little moments that end up being my favorites.

Until we have a child of our own (coming to you this March!! [update: she's here!]), June will continue to be the object of my affection.  Besides our little terror, Chester, that is.

These were taken over Labor Day.  My family has started a tradition of spending this holiday at the beach, and I love it.  It's one more hurrah before summer ends, and I come back and need a blanket on the bed.  mmm.

And the Award Goes to...

...Brandon and Melissa.  Hands down.  If I were giving out awards, these two get the prize for being troopers.  We met up for their engagement photos on what felt like the hottest day of the year.  It was one of those times when the AC in my car gave up five minutes in and never regained temperature control.

On the positive side, the setting was lovely and the heat couldn't stop the lovin'!  ;)  I loved getting to know these two - they were so easy to have fun with.  Thanks Brandon and Melissa!  I'm already looking forward to the wedding :)

Carly + Scott: Engaged!

Carly and I know each other from church and were in class together at Westminster Seminary – she was enrolled as a counseling student and I have taken a few classes over the past few years.  I heard about “a guy”.  You know, a GUY.  So, needless to say, I was pretty pumped to get to meet said guy.

They talked about their relationship with tons of sense of self-awareness and a gracious appreciation of the other  - beautiful, really.  They poked fun at each other and had that ease of being with one another we love to see in a pair.

Scott, I’m glad you’re “the guy”.  Congratulations, you two.  Looking forward to August 17th!
