So, I have to tell you.  I know I do this professionally and see you (my clients) briefly, but I really like you.  It sounds trite, but being present at your wedding or in your home five days post-birth is really special, and I don't forget you easily.

Meeting Sheri and Jon for a maternity session a few years after their wedding was so fun.  "You look good!  Even better than 2.5 years ago!  And look, you glow as a bride AND as a pregnant woman!"  I tone it down to be cool, but I love seeing clients again.

For this session, we met up in Independence Square Park.  It snowed the day before and gave us the most wonderful backdrop.

Can't wait to meet this little one in May!  xo

Irish (newborn) Eyes

I have some sweet images of a new family of four to share, and I promise it is a complete coincidence that I'm talking about their Irish heritage on St. Patrick's Day!  (That did work out well though, didn't it?)

I heard from this mama just after her second daughter was born.  This newborn session was extra special for me because Crystal and I met in college when we lived on the same floor (Tener Hall!) during our freshman year at Penn State.  My parens moved me in, said goodbye, and I walked out to a floor meeting and met Crystal.  The people we meet as freshmen seem to stick more than other years, don't they?

Moving on to what I really want to say: this beautiful baby girl is here!  Crystal got in touch when they were home from the hospital and we quickly set up a time for me to come out and meet them.  I love that the Duffys used Irish spellings for both of their girls names.  Caitrin sounds lovely and original, doesn't it?

Isn't she beautiful?  I love the personalized feel of her knit hat and blanket, too.

Welcome to the world, little Caitrin!  xo

Expecting your own little peanut?  Email me to talk about a session for your family.

Wintertime baby: Aubrey Rose

Kate and I occasionally ran into each other because we frequently were out with our dogs, taking walks or frequenting the local dog parks.  We both waddled through the winter and (barely) zipped up baby bumps under winter coats - just one year apart.  I still see her on frigid days, now with dog and baby, at the park, seeming to go-with-the-flow and intentionally treasuring these days.

Towards the end of the session, I looked over to see Aubrey drifting into a deep sleep as Shane rubbed her head and cuddled his little girl.  Smitten already, I love the images of he and his baby.  Take a look!

Congrats K+S!  I can't wait for our girls to be neighborhood friends!
