Allison + Dan: Married!

These two are married!  Photographing a wedding is so intimate, and I grow so fond of every couple I photograph.  Allison and Dan are no exception (see their engagement session for more on that) and their wedding was as happy and lovely and fun as they are.

PS - I just love that top photo.  Allison was walking along holding her dress and I asked her to stop since I loved the low sunset light.  I may have asked Dan to "go join her" or something equally vague.  This is what happened.

Congrats A+D!  Wishing you a beautiful marriage and life together.  xo

Katie + Erich Engagement Session

Engagement, Portraitsjacqueline horningComment

I met Katie at a baby shower last fall.  They randomly became roommates while both attending PCOM and then started dating after that.  How great is that?!

When I met her, she was finishing up med school and Erich was working in Hawaii.  We picked an afternoon during a rare week home for him and captured the two of them during engagement.  After spending a few hours with these two and their sweetness I was cheering for the day when they live in the same state (and house!) again.

They opted to meet up on PCOM's campus and then head to Main St in Manayunk - places with lots of memories and represented their time dating.  Beautiful locale + sentiment = one happy photographer.  Scroll on for some highlights!

Congratulations Katie and Erich!  Wishing you the best!  xo

A Few of my Favorite Things

personaljacqueline horningComment

Weeks are flying by for me as there always seems to be something out of the ordinary going on.  This week, our bathroom is being redone (wohoo!) so we are out of the house for a few weeks.  It's like a mini-vacation being away from my own house and to-do list, although we miss our neighborhood friends!

As the weeks run together with travel, vacation, house projects and prep for baby #2 I'm aware of my need to re-focus on the important things and less on how much progress I made with my pregnancy-induced house purge (It's real.  Pray for Pete.).  I've realized that having a child might be the best thing so far to slow me down and make me grateful for small things.  Have you found this?  She says, "Mama, I luv you" once and motherhood is all roses for that morning.

Here is a quick summary of our spring and summer so far, in pictures of course.  I love that my favorite things include big events like vacation and beach along with a favorite lunch on a favorite plate (eggs, kale, and good bread on a handmade plate gifted to me by my sister, in case you were wondering) and a walk in the rain.

Wishing you lots of favorite things this week! xo
